The Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation is an independent non-profit agency dedicated to the identification and remediation of dyslexia, a severe language based reading disability that exists in individuals having average to superior levels of intellectual functioning.
MISSION
The Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation's mission is to teach children and adults, who are dyslexic, to read. This is accomplished through professional assessment and one to one tutoring. Our tutoring program is based on the Orton Gillingham, multi-sensory method of teaching reading, writing, and spelling to individuals with deficient reading skills due to dyslexia.
- The Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation is looking for individuals that have a passion for helping others. There are so many young children in Hampton Roads that are struggling in school. They are laboring over their reading and aren't making any progress. These are intelligent children that are struggling from the reading disability dyslexia and are in the need of specialized help.
- The Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation TUTOR TRAINING SESSION will be held Sat. March 26 at the office of Tidewater Learning Center.
- If you are interested in becoming a volunteer tutor or would like to hear more information, please call us at (757)437-0936 or email us.
